Who We Are
Nestled in the heart of bustling Toronto, we take a different approach to the goods we sell. Our furniture is handcrafted with care and integrity, just the way it should be. We believe that creating beautiful, bespoke pieces doesn’t need to be pretentious. Our team values honest, hard work. We’re not afraid to get our hands dirty.
Meet Jack.
Born the son of a woodcutter, I grew up on the English countryside. I’ve always had a respect for natural materials and a passion for carpentry. I learned to value tradition, craftsmanship and integrity.
Years later, I moved to Toronto, Canada, and I knew something was missing. Most furniture options came flat packed in cardboard and were low-quality. I wanted to fill my home with furniture that had a story, and that would stand the test of time. So Son of a Woodcutter was born.
I believe that the things we surround ourselves with are a reflection of our values. That’s why we make every piece of furniture by hand using sustainable materials. With every cut I make, every hole I drill, and every stroke of my brush, my focus is on creating a finished product that’s as beautiful as it is durable.
Today, Son of a Woodcutter builds each piece by hand, one at a time. Each piece has its own distinctive grain, knots, imperfections and history – and will last you years and years to come.

I’m Jack, and I am the Son of a Woodcutter.
We're proud to be an Ontario wood partner.

When we build, we give special consideration to the materials we use – we know they can make or break a piece. All of our materials are solid and sustainably harvested, native hardwood species. We needed to partner with a company that aligned with our values, and that was Ontario Wood. We believe Ontario Wood is the natural choice in balancing price, function, beauty, versatility and durability. Just the way it should be.
