It’s safe to say that 2020 has been full of the unexpected. We’ve seen major changes to our lifestyles, our businesses and the way we work this year.
Many commercial spaces have been vacant with more and more people working from home. And while delivering to empty offices is a breeze, it’s also very sad. Thankfully commercial offices have continued to invest in their spaces!
We had no idea that this year would turn out the way that it did. In March, we feared that maybe it was time to pack up for good. But now, in December 2020, it’s set to be our best year ever. We’ve been busy building tons of custom tables, both for residential and commercial orders. We’ve had the opportunity to work on some incredible projects this year, including our favourite – a 27ft boardroom table built for a company in Toronto.
The 27ft Boardroom Table
Before this project, we’d already built a 20 ft boardroom table. But at 27 feet long, this has been our most challenging custom boardroom table yet.
Watch the video to see how it all came together! A special thank you to Kenzie at Kenzerama Productions for helping us capture all of the hard work that went into creating this large boardroom table.
Built with Ontario Wood
This custom boardroom table was built with sustainably sourced Ontario Walnut. Walnut is popular both with custom office furniture and home furniture, and we understand why. This premium species has a warm finish, and after working with it for a while, we’ve developed a special set of processes in order to get the best out of working with Walnut. We used Odie’s Oil, our go-to finish for Walnut wood furniture projects.
An Oversized Delivery
As you can imagine, special care went into delivering this massive table. The table was delivered in four sections. Each of those sections had to go up the elevator in a Toronto high-rise! It's hard to see how heavy those four sections are, but trust us when we say they weren’t light. Once delivered, we assembled the table on-site.
Our team put a lot of care and attention into this one. All in all, it came together beautifully and we are very happy with how it turned out!
Thank You for Your Support
We want to thank you for supporting Son of a Woodcutter this year. We want to thank you for continuing to support local businesses, especially now in a time where it is more important than ever. Here’s to all of us getting through 2020, and to a hopefully less-weird 2021!
